Kate Cone is a published author and freelance writer. The author of two non-fiction books, Kate is now working on several fiction projects, including two mystery series set in Ireland and Maine.

In Kate’s non-writing life, she earned a law degree from New England Law in Boston, a B.A. in American Studies from Colby College in Waterville, Maine and in her first foray into the college scene, got an A.S. in Broadcast Journalism.

Not happy with all those initials after her name, Kate earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing from Stonecoast, part of the University of Southern Maine.

An avid cook, Kate brings food into all of her writing projects, or the food and drinks bring themselves in, and she goes along. Food figures big her her life and she cooks something, anything, every single day.

Her favorite dish? It would have to be pasta with some shrimp and loads of garlic and lemon. Oh, and parsley.

Kate now divides her year between two beautiful coasts in Maine and South Carolina so she can visit her three grown kids and six grandchildren.
